Marissa Carper is a sophomore Computer Science major from Pullman, WA. Marissa joined ACES because she wanted to learn more about cybersecurity and pursue a career in the field. She knew that the ACES Living Learning Program would be the perfect opportunity to expand her knowledge of cybersecurity and computers while connecting with other students who share similar interests.

Marissa is also an intern for the UMD Athletic Media department, where she produces long- and short-form video content for Terrapin sports teams and film games. She is also an ambassador for the honors college.

She wanted to run for the ACES student board because she enjoyed the people she had connected with in the program so far, and wanted to help create a welcoming community. Marissa also enjoyed all of the ACES events she had attended and wanted to be involved in the planning process.

In her free time, you can find Marissa lifting at the gym, eating Chipotle, or hanging out with her friends.
