SFS Students

Quinton"Coming into college, I wasn't sure I wanted to do cybersecurity, but ACES [has helped] me to figure out what I wanted to do. Looking back, it was the perfect choice. I applied for SFS because I want to work in cybersecurity, and now that I've received the SFS scholarship, I'm really looking forward to its amazing resources to enhance my experience in cybersecurity as well as the ACES minor classes."

Colin Huemmer"For me, SFS was a huge opportunity that I couldn't afford to pass up. I was working at least 2 jobs at Maryland, and SFS allows me to focus on my academics and sports much more. I am looking forward to meeting other SFS recipients, as networking is one of the most crucial skill sets to have. Once I graduate I hope to pay it back by being a mentor to other ACES students in the Cyber Connect program. I look forward to growing with SFS and ACES alike."

Kofi Ansah-Brew"To be a good cybersecurity professional, you have to be able to put others before yourself since your first duty is to protect. I am truly grateful to ACES and SFS and am looking forward to meeting like-minded peers who share my interests in cybersecurity and mentoring young minds about the endless possibilities in the field of cyber."

Brianna Mentle"I have always had a passion about government, and SFS is a great opportunity to support my interest. SFS gives me the chance to combine and utilize my knowledge in cybersecurity, policy, government, and business, which is crucial to the interdisciplinary nature of cybersecurity. I'm also really passionate about getting more women involved in cybersecurity, especially when it comes to spreading awareness for the diverse needs within the field."
