Frank Pogoda is a software engineer at Amazon Web Services and is an ACES guest instructor for the Fall 2020 semester. The Terrapin alumnus graduated from the A. James Clark School in December 2017 with a degree in Computer Engineering and joined AWS two months later. Frank contributes to developing large-scale distributed systems in AWS with a focus in building cellular architecture and improving service resiliency. This semester, Frank teaches HACS498: Cybersecurity Group Problem Solving and aims to bring his 3 years of experience in the software development industry into the (virtual) classroom. The course focuses on developing a secure, scalable, content analysis tool that is resilient to cyber attacks. In his spare time, Frank enjoys taking in Mets games, practicing the piano, and playing chess.
